Kefir is an all natural, cultured milk drink that is packed with benefits. It is made by using Kefir Grains and milk and left alone for a day. It can then be mixed with smoothies, other recipes or you can just drink it by itself!
Kefir is known to have originated centuries ago from Caucasus mountain region. The Caucasians, made kefir by adding the kefir grains to cow’s milk and letting it ferment many days.

The result is a refreshing beverage with a slightly creamy texture and a refreshing, tangy flavor called Kefir.

So where did the Kefir Grains come from? Many believe the legend that the Prophet Mohammed gave the Kefir grains to the people of the Caucasian Mountain. Not much else has been found to trace how the Kefir Grains were discovered. Just to add, even Marco Polo mentioned Kefir in one of his voyages.

We might never ever know where or who discovered Kefir, but no one can hide the fact that it has been around for ages because it’s wonderful benefits are just outstanding.
